Terms of Service

Accounts are held by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over. Students use the Service through a student profile created and controlled by the account holder. The account holder is responsible for all activity under their account and for keeping their sign-in email secure.

SHSATus provides original practice questions, diagnostics, timed mock exams and progress reports for the New York City Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT). Neither SHSATus nor AI Soft Engine LLC is affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the New York City Department of Education. “SHSAT” is used only to describe the exam the Service prepares students for.

Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices and what each plan includes are shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase. All plans contain the same features and differ only in how long access lasts.

Only the monthly plan renews automatically. It continues to bill each month until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from your account page, without contacting us, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. The 3-month and 12-month plans are single payments that do not renew: access ends on the date shown in your account, and we email you before that date so you can decide whether to buy again.

Cancelling is not the same as requesting a refund. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not return money already paid.

If you change your mind within 7 days of a payment, email info@aisoftengine.com from the address on the account and we will refund that payment in full, for any reason or none. Refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank — that part is outside our control. Access to the Service ends when the refund is issued.

After 7 days we do not offer refunds for unused time, except where required by law or where we terminate your account without cause (see section 9).

You agree not to: share one student profile between multiple students to evade plan limits; copy, scrape, resell or republish questions, explanations or reports; probe or disrupt the Service’s security; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.

All questions, explanations, diagrams and reports are original works owned by AI Soft Engine LLC. Your subscription grants a personal, non-transferable licence for the enrolled student’s own preparation, and nothing more.

Score estimates, projected composites and school admission cutoffs shown in the Service are approximations based on publicly reported data and vary each year. They are provided for guidance only. AI Soft Engine LLC does not guarantee any score, score improvement, or admission to any school.

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI Soft Engine LLC’s total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms; if we terminate a paid account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of the current billing period.

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
